Lot 469, Canada collection of used Admiral Issues on album pages, sold for C$4,212

Ex-Lot 469, Canada collection of used Admiral Issues on album pages, sold for C$4,212Lot 469 Canada #104-140 Impressive and Extensive Collection of Used Admiral Issues, all neatly displayed on 43 album pages, with descriptions and catalogue numbers, left intact by us except for the major re-entry 1c blue green which was lotted separately. The collection covers all issues, including the regular 1c to $1 issues, plus coils, part imperforates, imperforates and surcharges (no War Tax). We note a great many better items, too many to list in detail here, but does include just about every Unitrade-listed shade, many unlisted shades, papers, printings, retouches, re-entries, booklet panes and singles, coils are present in pairs, including paste-up pairs and three Toronto experimental coil pairs, and more, with many quite valuable items. Also note an introductory King George V picture postcard and a 1925 Montreal Philatelic Exhibition card franked with a 1c orange. What really stands out in this collection, aside from its vast array of different stamps, is the quality, as the collector made an effort to obtain as many c.d.s. postmarked examples, with many socked on the nose and dated, including the coil pairs and booklet panes. A once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain such a substantial, researched and well presented used collection. See photos in our Image Gallery. Estimate $1,000, sold for C$3,600.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
