Lot 692 Canada Significant First Day Cover collection, of over 1,100 covers, in fourteen Uni-safe and three Lighthouse FDC albums, with strength from 1962-1977 and 1995-2010, and including a nice collection of over 100 Airmail FDCs 1928-1970 with many signed by the pilots or postmaster (noted a Newfoundland Sc. C13-15 FDC on Registered cover), includes some less-often-seen material, noting 13 Calgary 1988 Winter Olympic covers signed by athletes, 1937 Coronation, 1938 Royal Train issues; 1946 Peace Issue complete (268-273) though with some minor toning; interesting local varieties (Peterborough KAPEX); from 1972-76 the majority of issues are in blocks including 1976 Olympics; sealed Official FDC (Jan-Dec, 2000 with 25 covers), very little duplication, mostly Canada Post cachets after 1970, with RoseCraft, H&E, typical for such an accumulation, all but a very few of the non-Air Mail FDCs are unaddressed, overall very clean and above-average condition; online photos show a representation. Estimate C$400, sold for C$800.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
