Sold for C$400.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 1161 STONEHOUSE / DEVON squared circle, an extremely fine (proof like) despatch strike F / JA 7 / 81 (earliest known unreported date) on a 1d QV cover, with Taunick (JA 7) and Washford (JA 8) receivers on back. Part of backflap torn, still a lovely example of this rare Plymouth Office hammer, which was given a rarity factor of 450 in the Handbook, with only one further report in a Supplement. Estimate $300.
