Lot 1371 British Commonwealth Mostly Used Collection of King George VI Era in Three Lighthouse Binders with Matching Slipcases, 1937 to 1952, a very close to complete collection on Stanley Gibbons pages made for KGVI issues of the British Commonwealth (Aden to Zanzibar). Missing stamps are not always necessarily high values (some are) and we note that by far the area missing the most stamps are the Indian States. We noted some mint issues, often dues. Owner counted 4,173 different stamps in all, and we note a high degree of quality here, with many having clean c.d.s. cancels, and a huge catalogue value. Inspect to better appreciate. Estimate $1,000, sold for C$3,400.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 712 Canada O15Ac 1950 5c deep blue KGVI OHMS Overprint in Block of Fifteen, with Three Missing Period After S Variety Stamps, all ideally positioned in the center of the block. Mint never hinged, very fine and accompanied by a 1977 Greene Foundation certificate. Missing period stamps alone catalogue $450. Sold for $700 plus buyer’s premium.
