These were printed for the Iranian government in 1915 by Joh. Enschedé en Zonen, of Haarlem, Holland in sheets of 25. 100 sheets of each denomination were delivered to Tehran, but they were never put into use. In 1940, a total of 90,000 of these stamps were destroyed, leaving a possible 130 complete sets (or less). Rare and seldom offered. Fine to very fine. Persiphila catalogue US$2,700.
