Lot 203, North German Confederation 1869 multi franking money letter cover Ronsdorf to Naples, sold for C$819Lot 203, North German Confederation 1869 multi franking money letter cover Ronsdorf to Naples, sold for C$819Lot 203 North German Confederation #4, 6, 25, 26 1869 (May 11) multi-franking money letter cover to Naples, Italy, franked on reverse with 1Gr red vertical strip of three, 5 Gr bister cancelled with black “RONSDORF” boxed cancellation and pair of 10 Gr gray and 30 Gr blue with “RONSDORF” manuscript cancels, affixed with ‘aus Ronsdorf’ registration etiquette, manuscript endorsement ‘via Innsbruck alla strada ferrata’, wax seal removed reducing top of bottom back flap, vertical fold crossing 10gr pair, else a fine and uncommon usage. (Sc. #4, 6, 25,26; Mi. 4, 6, 25, 26). Sold for C$700.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 291 India 1865, 6a purple, cancelled with “B/1” octagon and blue “F.Casella & Co / Calcutta” merchant marking, to Naples, Italy, endorsed “per Str. Nubia” and “via Alexandria & Brindisi, Alexandria (6 Sep) transit c.d.s. on front, backstamped Calcutta Paid (3 Aug), Brindisi, and Napoli, reduced slightly at left, but a scarce franking. (S.G. 66) Estimate C$400-600, sold for C$1,450 plus 17% buyer’s premium.

Lot 850, USA 1867 one cent Franklin & ten cent green Washington pair, on cover New York to Naples, ItalyLot 850 United States 1867 #63, 68 10c green Washington Pair and 1c blue Franklin to Naples, endorsed “per City of Baltimore”. Stamps with deep fresh colour, tied by segmented corks and New York Nov 23 c.d.s. and PD to destination. Received in Calais on Dec 5 and with Napoli Dec 9 backstamp. Right stamp has a few short perfs and cover with a horizontal crease, else very fine and a colourful cover. Estimate C$150.
