Lot 30 Canada 1925 (October 24), Sifto Salt full-back advertising cover, franked with 3c carmine Admiral, Die II, tied to cover by Saskatoon slogan cancel, superb full-back colour illustrated advertisement for “Sifto” Iodine Salt, for household purposes and “for prevention of goitre”, the odd trivial wrinkle, lovely and very fine. Estimate C$60-80.
Lot 438 Saskatchewan #SE2 1913, Saskatoon Electrical Inspection, 50c blue, unused, without gum, quite rare, very fine. van Dam C$1,600, sold for C$1,200.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 675 Canada #237 1938.MAY.10 3c KGVI Coronation Issue Group of four Better Cacheted First Day Covers, all addressed to overseas destinations, with a lovely hand-painted cover Saskatoon to Cape Town, South Africa, a red and gold Crown cachet cover Québec to New Zealand, a Napier (New Zealand) Philatelic Society cover Medicine Hat to New Zealand and an unknown cachet Lunenburg to Bermuda. A very fine group. Retail C$390.
Lot 310 Canada #115 1928 8c blue Admiral on Cover to Colombia, South America. Stamp is tied by Saskatoon duplex MAY.13.1928 with Cartagena Colombia arrival on JUL.12.1928 (docket on back). There are also two 10c blue Lindbergh Air Mail stamps tied to cover on front, blue boxed receiver on back “Agencia Postal JUN.30.1928 Cartagena Columbia” and two coloured crayon markings on front. Small cigarette (?) burn on front, else very fine. Estimate $75, SOLD for $120 plus premium.
