
Lot 419 Malaya #179, 189, 191, 194. 1934 (December 25), hand-painted stamp art postcard to Switzerland, incorporating Chinese stamp fragments in a Junk design, franked with 1c black, 6c scarlet, 10c violet on yellow, and 25c red and red violet George V definitives of the Straits Settlements, tied by three strikes of “SINGAPORE REGISTRATION” c.d.s, front affixed with black on blue “BY AIR MAIL – PAR AVION” etiquette, second example on reverse alongside “Singapore R” registration label, and a violet “REGISTERED” handstamp, backstamped with “CHUR SWITZERLAND” (3 Jan 1935) double circle receiver, visually striking and unusual. Lot 1402 Straits Settlements Collection of 80 Registered Letter Postal Stationery Items, 1890s to 1930s, with catalogue numbers from the International Stamp and Coin Malaysia Postal Stationery Catalogue, including Queen Victoria RE1 (x21), in size F, G, H, H2 and K, with 12 postally used and one specimen (size F). Also Edward VII RE2 (x8) with 6 used and a size F specimen. George V includes RE4 10c (x14) with 9 used and 2 specimens. RE5 (x7) with 4 used and one specimen, RE7 15c blue (x17) with 13 used and 2 specimens and RE8 15c blue (x7) with 4 used. Also George VI 15c blue (x6) with 4 used and 1 specimen. Good variety of envelope sized, with the vast majority being size G. Total catalogue value is 8,895 Ringgit, which is equivalent to $2,670 Canadian at time of writing. Also includes a $1 Malaysia postal stationery envelope used and a registered letter (not postal stationery) to India. Noted insured and censored mail. Lot 91, Canada 1900 seven cent Numeral Registered cover Québec to Singapore

Lot 91 Canada 1900 7c Empire Registered Rate Numeral Cover to Singapore, a 1c QV stationery envelope mailed from St. Roch de Québec (FEB.9 c.d.s. free strike) to Singapore, Straits Settlements (MAR.18 receiver) through Québec City (FEB.9 transit) and London, England (FEB.22 oval registration transit). The cover was uprated with a single 6c QV Numeral to pay for the 2c Imperial Penny Postage rate plus the 5c registration fee. Combinations or uprating were necessary to pay this rate until the 7c Numeral was issued in December 1902. Very fine and ex Horace Harrison (2000) and Don Shorting. Estimate C$750.
