Lot 61, Canada 1859 ten cent black brown Consort unused o.g.Lot 61 Canada #16 1859, 10c black brown Consort, unused, with part original gum, perforated 11¾, rich deep colour characteristic of this first printing, sealed tear at foot and small stain near upper right, the odd typical perf flaws, else a remarkable example of this elusive Decimal issue, of which very few original gum examples remain, particularly with such very fine centering. Lot 66, Canada 1859 ten cent black brown Consort, used single from first printingLot 66 Canada #16 1859 10c black brown Consort, Perforated 11¾, a used single from the first printing (order 1A), with ideal light cancel and very pleasing centering for this difficult issue. This stamp possesses rich colour and a crisp impression, plus an unlisted re-entry, purported to be from plate position 46 (doubling of top frameline). Corner crease at top left, ending in a small tear at top, still a very fine appearing stamp. Accompanied by a 2009 Greene Foundation certificate. Unitrade CV $8,500.
