Lot 131 Canada #50-65SP 1897, ½c to $5 Diamond Jubilee, overprinted SPECIMEN in violet, the overprint in serifed uppercase letters, each with hinged original gum, colours bright and fresh, typical fine centering for the lower denominations, the dollar values nicer than often encountered, the 15c with crease and 50c with light bend, a scarce set, rarely offered inclusive of the lower values, overall fine-very fine. Estimate C$2,000, sold for C$3,200.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
