The folded letter (missing part of letter) is franked with a 10d blue Cartier imperforate on thin crisp paper, with large to huge margins, very fine. Ex Dale-Lichtenstein collection and purchased by the current owner in the Eaton & Sons “Rarity Auction” (ex K. Bileski Pence collection) in June 1995. Lot 307 British Columbia #BCL48a 1958 50c Law Stamp with Orange Colour Omitted, a used block of four tied to piece of mortgage document by two oval PENTICTON / REGISTRY datestamps (JUL.24.1958), the block has one normal stamp and three with the orange colour omitted. An extremely rare error, with only one sheet of 25 believed to have been printed, and most ideal presented in this way. One cover is franked with a 5c RLS and a 20c, the other with a 5c RLS and a 50c Widow Weeds, all cancelled by the sale Niagara Falls cork. Owner believes the 20c cover to be the earliest known use.
