Lot 204 Canada #65P 1897 $5 Jubilee Plate Proof in Olive Green, in a full sheet of 50, mounted on card, showing varieties in positions 5, 9, 16 and 29 plus re-entries in positions 10 and 11. A great sheet and quite scarce, with only 800 stamps recorded, and probably very few intact sheets remain. Unitrade CV$40,000, sold for C$10,500.00 plus 15% buyer’s premium.
Lot 30 Canada #5d 1855 6d grey violet Consort on Thick Hard Paper, used with a light grid from a duplex cancel, four very large margins, extremely fine. Accompanied by a 2018 Greene Foundation certificate. A scarce and exceptionally lovely stamp, and probably one of the finest known, ex. Dr. Lewis Reford. Rsv. Unitrade CV$4,000.
Lot 377 Canada #1084a 1986 $5 La Mauricie with Dark Blue Inscriptions Omitted, a mint never hinged single, off-centre as are all known examples, from the unique sheet of 25 found in 1986, very fine. Accompanied by a Saskatoon Stamp Centre guarantee of authenticity and photograph of the entire sheet, from which this was position 13. A striking modern variety. Rsv. Unitrade CV$3,500, sold for C$2,100 plus 15% buyer’s premium.
Lot 278 Canada #111a 1912 5c indigo Admiral, mint never hinged, very well centered and possessing deep, rich colour and freshness, extremely fine. A lovely stamp in all respects. Rsv. Unitrade CV$2,000, sold for C$1,800 plus 15% buyer’s premium.
Lot 375 Canada #934b 1984 $1 Glacier National Park Imperforate, a mint never hinged horizontal pair, from left of sheet, extremely fine. A rare modern variety, from the unique sheet of 25 found at the time. Accompanied by a scan of a part reconstruction of the stamps from that sheet, which shows that this pair was from positions 11-12. Rsv. Unitrade CV$4,000, sold for C$3,200 plus 15% buyer’s premium.
