Lot 1253 — Tannu Tuva Group, sold for $3450

The fortunate thing about the auction experience is that under-evaluated items will find the appropriate price level because of competition. That was the case for this lot of the former Soviet republic of Tannu Tuva, which passed our lotters’ scrutiny with a lower estimate than the value ultimately assigned by spirited bidders.

From Lot 1253

Lot 1253 Tannu Tuva #45/C9 Group of 85 Mint and Used Stamps Including 20 Imperforates, includes mint #45-52 perforated and imperforates (CV $50 and $100), 54-60 (CV $45), 61-70 (CV $50 – #63 with small stain spot, #69 crease at top), C1-C9 (CV $55) and the following imperforate issues (some of these with light creases #57, 71, 73 (corner tear), 75, 80a, 82a, 83, 84a, 85, 87, 89 and 92. Also includes 31 different used stamps. All mint stamps appear to be never hinged, a few small faults. Overall fine-very fine. Estimate $100, SOLD for $3,000 plus premium.

Auction #13 Invoices & Shipping

With the Labour Day long weekend past, we are still in the process of invoicing and shipping. Most local bidders have picked up their lots.

Much of the remaining material is organized, but some invoices still await exact shipping charges. We have sent almost all invoices, but please let us know if you were successful in the auction and have not heard from us.

Consignors will receive their post-auction notifications shortly.

Sale #13 Lots & Collections

Today begins the bulkiest but potentially most interesting part of the sale. We will see some great prices in the first few minutes, where we feature complete Canada collections that could well have been broken down into individual lots. Lot 1605 is a quite complete, clean, collection of Canadian revenues that will sell for more than $2000. A Winnipeg squared circle collection follows two lots later:

From Lot 1607
Lot 1607 Canada Winnipeg Squared Circle Collection, 1893 to 1905 of over 2,450 items. Everything is mounted according to hammer, time mark, date, month, and year. As well, there are 2 from Hammer IV: one on a 1c Edward postal card (1904) and also on a 2c Edward stamp (1905). Of the above total, 280 plus are on Jubilees, incl. one 50c stamp.
