Lot 571 — Canada #1442 Hologram press sheet
Lot 571 Canada #1442a 1992 42c Canada in Space with Holographic Image Uncut Press Sheet A full uncut press sheet containing 3 panes of 20 plus all the printer’s marking including 1st pass and 2nd pass. This is believed to be the only uncut press sheet in private hands. The provenance is an executive with the graphics firm which assisted Canada Post. A letter from the Manager of Stamp Products in Canada Post wrote on October 8, 1992 giving great praise (eg “This has been one of these few projects, I emphasize few, which turned out very much better than I expected”, etc.). He closes by stating “I have enclosed some samples and other products…”. The sheet is 50.5cmx25.5cm, has two trivial bends and trivial stain all in the selvedge and NOT noticeable for Exhibition purposes. An exceptional never hinged, very fine full sheet which is likely unique in private hands and with impeccable provenance. Est $ 1,500
