Lot 31 Canada #27b 1868 6c Brown Large Queen on Watermarked Bothwell Paper, unused (no gum), showing complete “&” and parts of two other letters of the watermark. A fresh and fine centered stamp, rare and a great addition to any Large Queen collection. There are only five mint or used examples of this stamp recorded. Accompanied by 1988 Philatelic Foundation and 2020 Greene Foundation certificates. Ex Brigham. Unitrade CV$15,000.
Lot 30 Canada #26i 1875 5c Deep Olive Green Large Queen, mint with hinged original gum. A lovely stamp with fresh, rich colour and a crisp impression, nicely centered between large even margins, extremely fine. Accompanied by a 2000 Greene Foundation certificate. Ex Jansen, Brigham. Lot 77 Canada #26 1875 5c Olive Green Large Queen, used with a pretty fancy cork cancel and showing a plate imprint along the whole length of the stamp in margin at left, a seldom seen stamp with these attributes and very fine. Estimate $100, sold for C$750.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 83 Canada #23 1868 1c Yellow Orange Large Queen, unused (no gum) with bright colour and nicely centered, extremely fine. A nice and fresh stamp. Accompanied by a 2011 Greene Foundation certificate. Rsv. $850. Unitrade CV$2,000, sold for C$1,100.00 plus 17% buyer’s premium.
Lot 93 Canada #27b, vi 1868 6c Brown Large Queen on Watermarked Bothwell Paper, a used horizontal pair still retaining its centre perf disks. The left stamp shows nearly full “LL” of the watermark. Catalogued as one fine stamp with watermark and one fine without. An extremely rare multiple, ex. Carl Mangold and Ron Brigham and accompanied by a 1964 Royal Philatelic Society (London) certificate.
