Lot 513 1944 German Military in Crete Airmail with Inverted Inselpost Overprint, mint never hinged from lower left corner of sheet, showing plate inscriptions in bottom selvedge. Light diagonal bend, else a very fine and rare stamp, with Pickenpack guarantee handstamp. Michel # 7BK. Michel CV €4,000.
Lot 396 New Brunswick #2 1851 6d Olive Yellow Heraldic Imperforate on Bluish Paper, used with very fine strike of the #23 in oval grid cancel from Richibucto (RF 6, rare). The stamp has four lovely margins, bright colour and is quite fresh, very fine. Accompanied by a 1989 Peter Holcombe certificate. Unitrade CV$1,600.
Lot 632 Canada 1882 Fort Ellice N.W.T. Registered Cover, mailed from Winnipeg on JUN.13.1882 (c.d.s. free strike) to Fort Ellice, Northwest Territories, with a “Fort Ellice N.W.T / Canada” broken circle receiver dated JUN.23 (a rare postmark, with a Robinson RF of “E”, Scrimgeour records only nine examples). The cover is franked with a 3c Small Queen plus a 2c Registration stamp, both tied by bull’s eye cancels. Faults, including missing part of the backflap, still a scarce cover. A Fort Ellice broken circle on a 1c GPC sold for $475 in our October 2022 sale. Estimate C$300.
