Upcoming Auction and Other News

We are hard at work lotting for what promises to be another strong auction. Dates for Sale #14 will be announced early in the new year. We already have substantial Canada material ready to go, and will have a larger than usual Worldwide section. We can continue to accept consignments until December 10th. Please let us know by e-mail or telephone if you have something you would like included.

In other news, we are pleased to welcome Louise Davies, who has joined our staff to assist with office responsibilities, bidder and consignor support, and shipping.

Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish clients who are celebrating the Festival of Lights!

Auction #13 Invoices & Shipping

With the Labour Day long weekend past, we are still in the process of invoicing and shipping. Most local bidders have picked up their lots.

Much of the remaining material is organized, but some invoices still await exact shipping charges. We have sent almost all invoices, but please let us know if you were successful in the auction and have not heard from us.

Consignors will receive their post-auction notifications shortly.

Auction #13, August 20th-22nd, 2013

We are proud to announce our Public Auction #13, to be held August 20-22nd 2013 at our premises at 62 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Canada.

The sale can be seen now on Stamp Auction Network.

The impact of substantial lifetime collections on this auction sale has been profound.

Two collections were consigned after the premature passing of their owners. One, from western Canada, came in more than 100 cartons, and a second includes the Hamlet collection. Three other consignments highlight an area of special collecting interest and honour their consignors with a named collection. The Hillside collection of Canadian Admirals, the Moseley collection of Great Britain Penny Reds, and the Hamlet collection of British Commonwealth all offer an opportunity to buy scarce items, many not seen in the philatelic marketplace for decades. And the same opportunity to acquire scarce stamps is found throughout the sale.

We start a Canada section with consistent strength from the pence to the modern era. Quality stamps used and mint with covers, multiples, proofs, errors and other varieties are found in every period.

The 338 lots of British Commonwealth as well as the Worldwide, which has strong USA from several consignors, should prove tempting. Our Postal History features many mini-collections and interesting postmark lots. The literature section has many diverse and scarce books.

Although 488 Lots and Collections have some of the inevitable remainder lots, in this auction we offer a high percentage of very nice quality collections. Please be careful that shipping is allowed on the item you are bidding on if you are not in the Ottawa area.

Print catalogues will be shipped next week to subscribers. PDF files are already here on our site, along with bidding instructions, featured items, and corrections.
