Lot 547 Canada 2-Ring #4 Postmarks, Halifax on cover and stamps, an unsealed cover (with very fine S. Howard & Son, Halifax embossing on backflap) is franked with a 1c yellow orange Large Queen, just tied by a fine strike of the 2-ring 4/ Addressed to Annapolis Town, with “circular” written in red and accompanied by a 2000 letter from Parks Canada explaining who the addressee was, and dating the cover between 1868-1872. Also a 2c green LQ, two 3c LQs (both faulty) and a 1c orange Small Queen, each with fine strikes. Estimate $100, sold for C$275 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 591, Canada two #57 Paris two-ring cancels, locally made, sold for $242
Lot 591 2-Ring #57-Paris, stamp and cover, a 3c Large Queen has a very fine strike of what appears to be a locally made obliterator, possibly made to replace a broken official instrument. Also a yellow 3c SQ cover mailed MAR.9.1871 to Woodstock. (Woodstock and Paris Station backstamps.) The obliterator is faint, but can be substantiated by the Paris datestamp. Estimate $75, sold for C$210 plus buyer’s premium.

Lot 324 Great Britain #3 1841 1p red brown Queen Victoria Imperforate, on Bluish Paper, mint, with full original gum, hinged. Three large margins and well clear from design at bottom. From position KI, with deep, fresh colour and very fine. SG #8, £800. Scott U$ 625. Sold for C$400 plus buyer’s premium.
Lot 51, Canada 1868 three cent bright red Large Queen on laid paper, Fine mint, sold for $7590
Lot 51 Canada #33 1868 3c bright red Large Queen, on Laid Paper, mint with original gum, hinged and centered to top, fine. Accompanied by a (pink) 2016 Greene Foundation certificate stating ” repaired vertical tear at top centre extending as vertical crease through the centre.” Still one of the approximately 10 known mint copies, and the first we have handled with original gum. Unitrade CV$37,500, sold for C$6,600 plus buyer’s premium.
