Lot 649, 1890 “Around the World” postal stationery card, Montréal via Vancouver, Yokohama, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bombay and London
Lot 649 1890 (April 18), 2c “Around the World” postal stationery card, despatched from Montréal, with sender’s notations on reverse “Experimental P.O. time / from Montréal Around World Westward”, with further instruction “Postmaster – please erase last P.O. address before remailing,”, struck on front and back with myriad markings tracing the card’s journey via Vancouver (24 Apr), Victoria (25 Apr), Yokohama, Japan (2 Jun), Shanghai, China (11 Jun), Hong Kong (17 Jun), Bombay, India (11 Jul), and London, England (30 Jul), returning to Montréal on August 8, for a total transit time of 113 days, some edge wear and corner creases as expected for such a well-traveled card, a scarce and striking card with tremendous visual appeal. Estimate C$300.
Lot 829, Canada 1936 Pan-Am Clipper cover Vancouver to Hong Kong
Lot 829 Canada 1936 75c Rate Pan-Am Clipper Cover to Hong Kong, mailed on DEC.19.1936 at Vancouver, flown by Pan-Am to Manila, where the clipper service ended in 1936 and addressed to the First Officer of the Canadian Pacific ship Empress of Russia. The rate was paid by a 50c Victoria Parliament Buildings issue plus a #222 and #225. Rough opening at top, fortunately mostly visible from the back only plus a few minor faults, still a scarce cover which also adorned by a Vancouver Golden Jubilee cinderella. Estimate C$150.

Lot 1194 Canada #243-245 1941 Pictorial Issue Registered AR Censored Cover to China, mailed Vancouver on DEC.1.1941 to Shanghai, China, franked with a pair of 20c, a 50c and a $1 Pictorials paying $1,90 (for postage, registration and AR fee) with unusual JAN.19.1942 blue oval Ottawa censorship datestamp on back and no Chinese receiver. Slightly reduced at right, still overall very fine. Estimate C$150.

Lot 1312 1931 SCADTA Air Mail Cover to Col0mbia, this cover is franked with SCADTA #C55 and #C58 which were intended for internal use only, and are very rare on international incoming mail. Mailed from Vancouver on MAY.26.1931, arrived Barranquilla on JUN.3 and Girardot on same day (receiver on back). There is a Canal Zone stamp at left, uncancelled even though mail would have gone through via Canal Zone. A very fine and scarce cover. Estimate C$300.
