Note advertising for wholesaler, hotel, hardware, boot and shoe manufacturer, funeral home, Corset Co., tobacco and more, with the vast majority from the province of Québec. Note four fronts, and two covers that are trimmed (these with Small Queen frankings). Others might have tears or other minor faults. That said, this is a better than average lot, and overall condition is fine to very fine, with many very fine. Many are still in dealer sleeves, some priced in the $25 to $100 range. Also two #21 from Montréal, APR.8.1858 to Ste Thérese de Blainville C.E with a soft ribbed Beaver with almost no margins, signed Holcombe and an undated and uncancelled cover to Montréal (drop cover) with a jumbo-margined 3d Beaver. Campo-Bello NB (strikes on front and back) to Fredericton with manuscript “On Service / Money Letter” and rated “9” through St John NB; and 1866 Saint John NB to Kingston NB (nice datestamps on back) with red handstamp “REGISTERED / LETTER – No.”, franked with two 5c green Queen Victoria adhesives (perf toning) tied by an oval grid.
